Health PEI is looking for a Medical Oncologist to join the collegial, multi-disciplinary team within the Provincial Oncology program.

Medical Oncologists at the PEI Cancer Treatment Centre provide essential care allowing PEI residents to access community-based oncology treatment. The physician group within the Department of Oncology includes Radiation Oncologists, Malignant Hematologists and Family Medicine–Oncology physicians who work collaboratively through each phase of a patient’s journey with malignancy. Typical day to day responsibilities include outpatient consultation and on-treatment assessment clinics, inpatient consultation service and on-call inquiries.

The Prince Edward Island Cancer Treatment Centre is located at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, PEI. A satellite clinic at Prince County Hospital, Summerside also provides patients from Western PEI access to systemic therapy and follow-up care. While successful candidates will typically be based out of Charlottetown, travel to Summerside may be required on an intermittent basis to meet system needs.

Prince Edward Island (PEI) is renowned for its people, arts, culture, food, and innovation. With more than 1,000 kms of shoreline and beaches, acres of gentle farmland, vibrant cities and smaller communities, National and Provincial parks, and an island-wide trail system, it is no surprise that individuals and families from around the world have chosen to call this island ‘home’. It is easy to come and go from Prince Edward Island. From direct flights out of Charlottetown airport, to a toll bridge in Borden, to a beautiful ferry ride, you are closer than you think to your next destination. International airports are nearby in Moncton, NB and Halifax, NS.

In addition to professional fulfillment, practicing in PEI means living in one of Canada’s most scenic destinations. With its safe, welcoming communities and breathtaking landscapes year-round, PEI offers both natural beauty and an exceptional quality of life. Whether you seek a small urban or rural setting, you’ll have access to outdoor activities, fresh food from our land and sea, and a vibrant arts and cultural scene. Prince Edward Island is the ideal place for physicians who value both professional satisfaction and personal well-being.
